An exciting new enhancement to the Officer Knowledgebase is scheduled
for release in late April 2006! With this release, the Officer
Knowledgebase will not only contain officer functional information but
also officer lending and SOA authority levels.
For credit officers or regional operations managers currently charged
with documenting and maintaining long spreadsheet lists of authorities,
this means a more streamlined approach to documenting authorities.
For this group,
the anticipated benefits also include:
• An efficient,
automated process to handle the required annual officer
acknowledgement of lending and SOA authorities
• On-line maintenance capabilities of lending and SOA authorities,
including exception authorities
• Easy tracking of granted exception authority
• Access to reports that help monitor the accuracy of daily
authority changes
For Bank
associates who have been granted lending or SOA authority*, the
anticipated benefits include:
• On-line inquiry access to view your granted authorities
• Automated e-mail generation prompting you when acknowledgement of
authorities is due
For Bank
associates who have audit and compliance responsibilities over the
granting of lending and SOA authorities, the benefits include:
• Transparency of authority information
• Reports that allow tracking of exception authority
• Ability to monitor annual lending authority acknowledgement
process
As the
implementation date approaches, key stakeholders of lending and SOA
authority will be contacted to:
• Ensure that OK contains the positions and names of Bank associates
who have been granted lending authority and material SOA authority*
• Review existing position and Bank associate information in OK for
accuracy
• Provide existing lending and SOA authority information in standard
format for one-time load into OK prior to implementation
• Participate in important Client Acceptance Testing of the enhanced
functionality of OK
In preparation
for the roll-out of these enhancements, web-based training designed
by STU will be provided to address the needs of OK’s main
constituents. This training will cover:
• The more
detailed needs of maintenance users who are responsible for granting
and maintaining lending and SOA authority
• The general needs of Bank associates who need to be able to
perform simple inquiry or acknowledgement tasks
A core team of associates involved in the daily maintenance of
lending/SOA authority and the OK system has already devoted many
hours towards designing these OK functional enhancements. With the
help of additional stakeholders we’ll be working towards smoothly
launching OK’s new capabilities and begin mapping additional
enhancements in future releases.
*OK enhancements will include adding lending authority certain
material SOA authority levels and will exclude retail SOA
authorities due to volume and turnover constraints.
